Upon dedicated research, I have found a few interesting shopping gems while preparing myself for tonight’s Movie in the Park: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
If you’d like to fully immerse yourself in all that is Ferris, Cameron, Sloane, Mr. Rooney, et al. then listen to The Dream Academy’s cover of The Smith’s Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want while reading the blog:
Six days ago the fictional home of the lovable hypochondriac Cameron Frye went on the market for the humble price tag of $2,300,000. The Ben Rose home is located in Highland Park, Illinois.
The realtor’s site states the following:
THE BEN ROSE HOME-site of the famous movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, cantilevered over the ravine, these two steel and glass buildings, which can never be duplicated, have incredible vistas of the surrounding woods. This is a unique property designed by A. James Speyer and David Haid, both notable architects of the 20th Century. Estate Sale Sold -No disclosures! This is an amazing architectural treasure.

Now for the more frugal fans, you may not be able to drop the cash to live in Cameron’s home, but you could spend the day walking in Ferris or Sloane’s shoes.
Last year Nike designed a Dunk shoe based on the Ferris movie poster, utilizing the classic leopard print vest and general color scheme of the poster. The shoes are still available for $165 on several sites including superkix.com. Search, “Bueller.”
As for Sloane Peterson zealots, a boot was created in her namesake and sold on modcloth.com until selling out completely. This particular shoe style may or may not come back into stock, but it may be worth your while to keep your eye on the progress.
